Me about Me
My name is Diego Büchi. Since this Swiss last name isn’t exactly built for international use, let’s go with Buechi or just Diego. As you’ll see below, I’m interested in all sorts of things, and this changes regularly too. But one thing that has always been with me is an interest in understanding both us as human beings and the world around us. Let’s see where this leads.

Swiss Export Risk Insurance SERV
Since 2023, I have been working in communications at SERV, Switzerland’s export credit agency (ECA). There, I oversee projects such as strategic corporate messaging, organizational transformations, crisis communications and training programs.

BSc in Business Psychology
Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts
After four years of studying alongside my job, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Business Psychology, achieving a grade of 5.5 out of 6.0. For my final project, I researched «Trust and Distrust in Governmental Export Credit Agencies (ECAs)».
2023
Swiss Youth in Science
In 2023, Merlin Studer and I reached the national finals of «Swiss Youth in Science». Our project, «As Expected Unexpected», explored human perception and expectations through a short film and proudly won the Audience Award.
2022
Baccalaureate in Design and Art
Berufsmaturitätsschule Zürich
I completed my Baccalaureate (BM) in Design and Art. In addition to further knowledge of visual storytelling, drawing was a nice complementary skill. I ended up graduating top of my year with a 5.7 out of 6.
2020
Military Service
Swiss Armed Forces
As part of the Swiss militia system, I completed my full-time basic training in air defence. Later, I moved to the electronic warfare unit, working in the operations monitoring centre during annual four-week repetition courses until 2026.
2016
Creating a "Game"
At age 17, while taking my first steps in HTML and CSS, I built a simple browser game: buttonbanger.net. Unexpectedly, the project took off and was played over 200,000 times in its first year.
2015
Apprenticeship as a Mediamatician (EFZ)
Sonova Group
My career started at the Sonova Group with a four-year apprenticeship as a Mediamatician (EFZ). I later stayed on as a Visual Design Specialist for another three years, managing the group’s visual communication and developing a global brand platform.
2012
The first take
The moment I bought my first camera at age thirteen marked the beginning of a deep passion for visual storytelling. During this time, I made countless films for which I owe an apology to my sister Lena, who had to star in so many of them.
2007
Setting the Rhythm
When my mother built my first drum kit out of old cans and pans – a decision she regretted just hours later – she sparked my passion for playing the drums. That led to forming a band and playing small gigs in Switzerland.
1999
Where it all started
Arriving in 1999, I caught the final glimpse of the 20th century. As the son of a graphic designer and an art therapist, my childhood was filled with plenty of creative freedom and an impressive collection of family photo collages.
